About the Blog

The start of this blog could be termed as a happy accident. The continuation, a matter of conjecture.

My wife, Esha, was the first to suggest that maybe it was time for me to look at the world of blogging beyond design. I have started, stopped and restarted two blogs - Design is a verb and JDallcaps on the theme of design meets technology meets consumers meets....

I am a designer by training, by profession - I love the world of Design with a capital D. I evangelize design, speak on /about/of design, help define tools for designers, manage designers - in short I eat, drink and smoke design. Loads of it. So it was a non-brainer to talk about emerging trends and ideas or critique design. As a few thousand other designers do so with varied levels of success. After all, to requote margaret Mead, "we are all unique - like every other person".

An act of pure serendipity, I came across John Maeda's tweet a day after my conversation with Esha: before you go to bed, write down three things that made you happy that day.

I it was a particularly bad day at work and nothing memorable at home. Or so I believed. But this line forced me to look, to think and reconsider the day in retrospect. As I looked I found one, two, four - actually six things that made me happy that day. Small things, funny things, little things. Things I would like to remember the day by. And the days ahead by.

Thats simply the stuff of this blog: a thing or two or three or even more - that makes my day! Its a little slice of my life. A trifle personal. And a small sunny slice.

Thank you Esha and John!
